Innovative Structural Solutions Since 1990

Sa-Tech Engineering, Inc. (1990–2011) and Sa-Tech Engineering Consulting Group, PA (2006–present) were established by Yonah Saddik, P.E., for the purpose of providing the building industry with efficient design while meeting all the needs of those involved. Yonah Saddik, P.E., has over 34 years of extensive experience in the design of low, mid and high rise buildings. One of Yonah Saddik's achievements is the development of a construction method that applies tunnel forms to luxury high-rise buildings, such as oceanfront condominiums, which in many cases saves on construction costs and cuts down on overall construction time.

In almost every building, transfer slabs and beams can be eliminated. Such conditions can add a major cost to the building budget and can also slow down construction. In order to achieve such a goal, close coordination between the architect, the developer, and the structural engineer is required.

  • About SATECH

SA-TECH Engineering Inc. & SA-TECH Engineering Consulting Group, PA (SA-TECH ENGINEERING) is a full-service structural engineering firm located in downtown Boca Raton, FL, since 1990.

Yonah Saddik, P.E., its president, is also a Special Inspector licensed in the State of Florida. SA-TECH is an expert in the structural design of high-rise, mid-rise, and low-rise buildings, providing extensive experience and a concentration of skilled personnel. Our projects over the years include numerous high-rise, mid-rise, and low-rise residential and commercial developments.

In addition to design, SA-TECH provides field inspection, extensive shop drawings, and submittal reviews to ensure compliance with Permitted Construction Documents. We also offer ongoing consultation during construction, including field consultations upon request to support the ongoing construction.

One of SA-TECH’s unique expertise areas is the cost optimization of apartment buildings and hotel structures by applying the tunnel forms method to low, mid, and high-rise buildings.

SA-TECH is an expert in lateral resistance for hurricane and earthquake forces, the application of post-tensioning design, and various other construction methods commonly used for all types of reinforced concrete and steel structures.

SA-TECH has a strong sensitivity to architectural design, construction efficiency, and speed. Combining this with our extensive knowledge and experience uniquely qualifies us to perform structural design for major, complex projects.

Upon request, SA-TECH provides extensive peer review for existing designs, ensuring code compliance and structural design optimization. Over the years, when requested, SA-TECH has significantly reduced the cost of existing designs, optimizing them and turning them into successful developments.

SA-TECH also offers failure analysis and forensic engineering, including expert witness testimony. We provide various inspection services, such as:

    • Threshold Inspection
    • Home Inspections
    • Condominium inspections for 25 and 30-year certifications, including structural integrity reserve studies (SIRS),.

The purpose of a SIRS is to identify potential or existing structural problems that could lead to significant maintenance or repair costs in the future. This inspection includes assessing the condition of the building's structural components, such as foundations, roofs, balconies, exterior walls, and other structural elements exposed for walkthrough observation. The SIRS also includes considerations for the useful life of these components for funding reserves.

  • Construction Repairs

    1. SA-TECH Engineering conducts structural observations of areas of concern and issues a signed and sealed engineering report.

    2. SA-TECH Engineering performs repair design and specifications for all structural deficiencies in existing buildings or buildings under construction. Such repair(s) shall comply with all applicable state and local codes and shall address, for the life of the structure, the "as built" deficiencies. If any of the repairs require a specialty engineer and contractor, SA-TECH Engineering will delegate such repairs to the specialty engineer with the proper specifications to be included in its repair drawings and specifications.

    3. The repair drawings and specifications shall be submitted, signed and sealed, to the local building department for permit approval prior to such repair(s) taking place.

    4. If requested, SA-TECH ENGINEERING will be able to get bids for all repairs specified in its drawings and forward them to the proper authorities with its recommendations.

    5. SA-TECH ENGINEERING may observe the repair's work in full compliance with its repair drawings and specifications, or may delegate such observation to other registered inspectors specializing in some of the methods of repair specified.

    6. A final signed and sealed repair's certificate may be issued by SA-TECH Engineering following such observations, for full compliance with its repair drawings and specifications, and/or following a signed and sealed certificate from the delegated registered inspector(s).

    7. SA-TECH Engineering, if required, may address other construction deficiencies, such as water intrusion, components, and cladding, and may delegate them to other specialty architects and engineers. These repair drawings and specifications will follow, as well as paragraphs 1–5 above.
